Putting AI to Work Across Your Data: Your March 2026 Updates

More connections, smarter AI, better data.

This month's updates bring a meaningful upgrade to Chord AI, CDP improvements, and give you richer tools for subscription analytics.

New features

Chord AI: Powered by Anthropic

Chord AI now runs on Anthropic's models — one of the most reliable and capable AI models available. You can expect more consistent, structured responses and stronger reasoning across complex queries, with no changes to your existing workflows.

Additionally, we made significant improvements to the underlying query-building layer that powers how Chord AI processes your inputs and generates responses. This is the core of the upgrade.

Chord AI Monitors

AI Monitors are now live! After asking Copilot a question, you can turn any answer into a monitor with one click — and get an email alert when something changes. A few things worth monitoring:

  • Subscription cancellation spike — Ask: "How many subscriptions were cancelled this week?" Run it weekly and get an email alert when cancellations exceed your normal range, so you can respond before churn compounds.

  • Revenue momentum — Ask: "What was my total revenue this week compared to last week?" Get an email alert when week-over-week revenue drops below your threshold — so you know immediately, not at month-end.

  • High-LTV customers going quiet — Ask: "Which customers with 3 or more orders haven't purchased in the last 60 days?" Run it weekly and get an email alert when that segment grows — your cue to trigger a winback campaign before those customers churn for good.

New CDP destinations

Contentsquare - Heap (device and cloud mode) and Insider One are now available as destinations in the Chord CDP catalog.

Updated subscriptions analytics module

A new suite of subscription analytics explores is now available as a beta release on Chord for brands with subscriptions. Covering 7 distinct explores — from churn and LTV to product and bundle performance — it gives you a self-serve view of subscription health across your platform. Check out our documentation here! If you don't have access to this yet and want to learn more, reach out to help@chord.co and we can get you set up.

Coming soon

Big things are in the works. Here's a preview of what's coming to Chord AI.

Chord AI: Agents

Chord AI is getting a new layer of intelligence this spring. The first two agents are nearly ready:

  • Audience & Targeting — Automatically surfaces high-value customer segments and recommends targeting strategies. No manual digging required.

  • Subscriptions & Retention — Analyzes subscription health, flags churn risk, and identifies opportunities to convert one-time buyers into subscribers.

You review, you approve, you act. And these two are just the start — we're building a growing library of agents designed to surface opportunities across every part of your business.

Metric Tracking for AI Monitors

Copilot will detect metrics within an answer and let you select which metric to track before creating a monitor. This will make monitor creation faster and more accurate by grounding it in the data already surfaced in your conversation.

Chord AI Slack integration

Soon you'll be able to ask Chord AI questions directly from Slack — no need to open another app. It's in prototype now and coming this spring.

Improvements

Chord AI

  • More reliable action recommendations: Chord AI Copilot now generates action recommendations more consistently. We resolved failures in recommendation generation and expanded coverage, so you're less likely to hit gaps in your AI-driven insights.

  • Clarifier asks one question at a time: The Chord AI clarification step has been overhauled to ask exactly one focused question per turn. Previously it could fire multiple questions at once, making conversations harder to navigate. It now asks sequentially, one dimension at a time (time period, metric definition, segmentation, etc.), for a more natural back-and-forth.

  • Cleaner impact metrics display: Agent analysis results now show human-readable metric labels (e.g., "Audience Size", "Avg AOV") with proper currency formatting. Recommendation confidence is shown as High / Medium / Low instead of a raw percentage.

  • Copilot cancel and re-run: You can now cancel an in-progress Copilot question at any stage. Cancelled questions are saved to thread history so you can reload the page and pick up where you left off using the Re-run button.

  • Styled tables in chat responses: Tabular data returned by Copilot is now displayed as a proper formatted table with borders, padding, and a header background — much easier to read than raw markdown.

Searchable dropdowns on Reports and Audiences pages

The report and audience picker dropdowns on My Reports, Shared Reports, Explores, and Shared Audiences now support search. No more scrolling through long lists — just start typing to filter.

Expanded CDP notifications

CDP event notifications have been expanded and are now visible directly in Chord CDP. Get better visibility into your pipeline activity without digging through logs or reaching out to support.

CDP destination cards show Cloud / Device Mode badges

Each destination card in the CDP overview now displays a clear badge indicating whether it runs in Cloud Mode or Device Mode, making it easier to understand how data flows at a glance.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug in our session management code where session tokens were not being extended on activity for some brands. Brand users with short session windows (e.g., 15 minutes) would be logged out mid-session even while actively using the platform.

  • When a saved Explore's internal query reference expired, attempting to create an Audience from it returned a 404 with no recovery path. The system now reconstructs the query from the Explore URL parameters and proceeds successfully.

  • Fixed a bug where the animated typewriter effect on Copilot responses was interrupted when a new conversation thread was created mid-animation.

  • Fixed a bug where users with an admin role received a "Failed to create analytics view" error when trying to create an Explore from a Copilot answer.

  • Fixed token rotation for Shopify rETL sources to maintain uninterrupted data syncs.

  • Fixed a bug where some brands with special characters in their name (e.g., periods) could not view their data source status.
